About
Patrick Ross, Jr., MD, PHD
Patrick Ross, MD, pioneered many of the robotic thoracic surgical procedures in use today and trains other physicians in these advanced techniques. He has performed more than 500 robotic thoracic procedures and is one of the most experienced robotic thoracic surgeons in the United States. Dr. Ross is also a pioneer and nationally renowned specialist in utilizing photodynamic therapy (PDT), a minimally invasive, non-surgical way to treat lung cancer. PDT uses special drugs, called photosensitizing agents, along with light to kill cancer cells. Studies have shown that PDT can work as well as surgery or radiation therapy but may have no long-term side effects, is most often done as an outpatient, and can be targeted very precisely.
