Interventional Cardiology
Board certified since 2023
As a cardiologist practicing in an era of remarkable advances in minimally invasive techniques for precise diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease, I fully believe in harnessing these advances to tailor the best care for each patient. I take pride in understanding the individual differences, lifestyles, and needs of each patient, which helps me determine the ideal therapy to optimize the patient’s cardiovascular health and overall well-being. Lastly, I believe in bringing tomorrow’s science to the treatment of current day cardiovascular problems, by participating in clinical trials.

Dr. Jayanna is an interventional cardiologist, which means he has expertise in all aspects of cardiology, with additional training in the use of minimally invasive catheter-based procedures to diagnose and treat disorders of the heart and blood vessels. A major focus of Dr. Jayanna’s practice is percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), or the use of catheter-based procedures to open blocked or narrowed arteries that supply the heart. PCI can be used in emergency settings to treat a sudden heart attack, and it can be used to treat coronary artery disease (CAD) when there is a major blockage obstructing blood flow to the heart. Dr. Jayanna specializes in precision PCI, which uses advanced imaging techniques to get a precise picture of the blockage inside the heart to tailor the best approach to treating the blockage. He also treats all forms of peripheral artery disease (PAD), including narrowing or blockage of arteries supplying blood to the legs, arms, brain, and other vital organs. He is trained to perform interventions in the heart and other blood vessels with little or no use of contrast dye, to avoid harm in patients with impaired kidney function. Dr. Jayanna also uses catheter-based procedures to treat patent foramen ovale (PFO) and atrial septal defect (ASD)—two types of structural defects in the heart.
