I believe that being an effective physician requires knowledge and judgment. But equally as important, it requires listening, patience, and empathy. I think it is vitally important to take the time to listen to the patient's symptoms and concerns. Only then can the physician's expertise and judgment be applied most effectively, and to the greatest benefit to the patient.
Dr. Lawrence Mendelson graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Magna Cum Laude and then completed medical school at the State University of New York in Brooklyn. He completed his internal medicine residency and his fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Mendelson is a noninvasive cardiologist with special interests in coronary heart disease, preventive cardiology, valvular heart disease, and cardiovascular imaging. In addition to being board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, he is also board certified in Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology. He is director of the Heart Station at Bryn Mawr Hospital and medical director of the noninvasive vascular lab at Bryn Mawr Medical Specialists Association.
