About

Joseph R. Triggs, MD, PhD

Dr. Triggs is a board-certified gastroenterologist specializing in minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal (GI) problems, particularly GI cancers and precancerous conditions and benign disorders of the esophagus, liver, pancreas and bile ducts. Dr. Triggs’ expertise is in the use of an endoscope—a thin lighted tube that can be guided to nearly any point in the GI tract. Specialized tools at the end of an endoscope allow Dr. Triggs to perform biopsies, remove polyps or early cancers, open blocked ducts, treat swallowing disorders and ease symptoms of advanced cancer. Dr. Triggs practiced at Fox Chase Cancer Center before joining Main Line Health.
