General Surgery
Board certified since 2023
I strive to stay current with advances in minimally invasive surgery so I can provide the most up-to-date treatment of abdominal disorders using less invasive techniques for faster recovery after surgery. I am equally committed to excellence in surgery and to achieving the best-possible outcomes for my patients. This involves listening closely to each patient to understand their needs and concerns and then tailoring an effective treatment plan to address them.

Dr. Kunkel is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in minimally invasive abdominal surgery. She treats many conditions that may require scheduled or emergency surgery, including hernias, gastrointestinal reflux disease (GERD), gallstones, and appendicitis. Special interests include surgery to repair hernias, rebuild the abdominal wall, or treat problems in the upper gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Dr. Kunkel is trained in advanced laparoscopic, robotic, and endoscopic surgery and opts for one of these minimally invasive approaches whenever possible. Endoscopic surgery is performed using tiny instruments that are attached to a thin lighted tube (endoscope) that is inserted into the mouth and guided to the GI tract.
