Ways you can help during the COVID-19 pandemic
Make a gift
You can help the Main Line Health team on the front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic by making a gift.
Main Line Health's COVID-19 Employee Emergency Fund will support our health care team with financial relief to cover personal expenses including childcare, housing, commuting costs and wellness needs. By providing financial relief to our employees, Main Line Health can continue to address our patient care and community health needs as we respond to the rapidly evolving coronavirus pandemic.
Main Line Health’s COVID-19 Research Fund will support several biomedical scientists at the Lankenau Institute for Medical Research (LIMR) who have pivoted their research toward battling the Coronavirus. In particular, they are advancing studies to better diagnose, treat and prevent COVID-19 infection.
Thank you for your generosity and support as we care for our community during these unprecedented times.
Your gift can be doubled! A group of generous donors has initiated a 1:1 fundraising challenge match to support Main Line Health COVID-19 research efforts. Together, they have pledged a gift of $80,000 if an additional $80,000 can be raised by the end of 2020
Homemade face masks
The CDC and Pennsylvania Governor’s office recently recommended that the population in our area should wear face masks when in public and in any congregate facilities. With this guidance, Main Line Health decided that we will accept and distribute homemade cloth masks to our team.
We have many employees who would benefit from your construction of cloth masks. Here is some important guidance:
- Please use a cotton-poly mixed fabric. If not available, heavy cotton will work. Many have gone to fabric stores, but household items such as pillowcases will work as well.
- Please follow a similar template to this one.
- Put masks in a Ziploc or grocery bag.
If you would like to donate homemade cloth masks, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org to coordinate.
Thank you so much for your generosity and help with this cause. The support we have received from our community has truly been incredible!
Take a picture with your masks and tag us @mainlinehealth!
There has been a lot in the news about using plasma from recovered patients to help sick COVID-19 patients. Although at this time this is an unproven therapy, it may be a treatment option for some patients, and you can help. If you are a patient who has recovered from COVID-19 and want to help others, visit the American Red Cross donation site for more information. To learn more about plasma or blood donation during COVID-19, visit the Well Ahead Blog.
If you have items to donate, please email email@example.com and a member of the team will respond. We have received a tremendous outpouring of support from our community wanting to help the Main Line Health team on the front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic. As there is a shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) across the country, we would greatly appreciate any donations of the following:
- N95 masks
- Face shields
- Tyvek coveralls
- Surgical gowns
- Isolation gowns
