Gaining freedom with prosthetic arms

When Walt lost both of his arms in a tragic industrial accident, his life slowed down for awhile. Although he was given a set of electric prosthetics, the equipment sat in his closet for five years, Walt opting to have family members take care of him as he coped with his loss. Then, Walt decided he didn’t want to live life on the sidelines anymore.

With the help of the staff at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital, Walt learned how to maneuver his prosthetics to complete household activities like yard work, cleaning the garage, and feeding himself. Finally, five years after his accident, Walt was taking life back into his own hands.
