Hours: Part Time Salaried 64 hrs biweekly
The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible and accountable for the provision of educational opportunities for day, evening, night and weekend nursing staff to promote an optimal level of knowledge and performance skills for Nursing personnel to enhance the quality of patient care. The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for the orientation, training, competency validation, and continuing education of the nursing staff. Educational information/programs are developed and maintained for all MLH system nursing employees and students affiliating within the Main Line Health system. Utilizing the principles of growth and development over the life span, the Clinical Nurse Educator demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide/teach age appropriate care, as well as care to diverse patient populations, within the assigned clinical areas.
A. EDUCATION
1. Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field or currently enrolled in masters program required.
2. Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English to sufficiently perform job duties.
B. LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, REGISTRATION
1. A current RN license or temporary practice permit to practice in Pennsylvania.
2. Specialty Certification or membership in professional organization required.
3. CPR instructor certification required within six months.
C. EXPERIENCE
1. Minimum of three to five years related clinical experience required.
2. Demonstrates knowledge of teaching and management principles.
